Make a Good Impression Recap

Here are a few of my favorites ideas from Jennifer’s article:

  • Pay attention to people around you and not your phone.
  • Resist talking about yourself.
  • Don’t dominate conversations. Give others an opportunity to talk.
  • Look people in the eye when you meet them and talk to them.
  • Don’t end text messages with periods (digital etiquette point)
  • Don’t use all CAPS in emails and text messages. This is equivalent to you yelling at the other person.
  • Work on remembering people’s names.
  • Be courteous to restaurant workers.

The one that surprised me was not ending short text messages with a period. I’m guilty of that one. I think some of our grammar rules go by the wayside in the digital age.
