Tips on How to Put Procrastination Behind You

From time to time we all enter the dark cycle of procrastination. You know–those times we put off completing a task, starting an idea, or simply avoiding a situation. Sadly though, 20% of people chronically avoid hard taks and intentionally look for distractions. They have adopted procrastination as an emotional response to a task or as a coping mechanism to stress. Obviously, this behavior results in negative situations in a career, business and personal life.

Procrastination is so crippling that there is a Biennial Conference on Procrastination  which provides a forum for researchers to present scientific research papers. It is encouraging that there are physchologisst who perform research and think about this emotional affliction and formulate tips and solutions to help individuals break away from this behavior.

This small collection of articles will shed light on procrastination. Maybe you’ll find an idea or two that you can use to overcome procrastination–even if you’re not among the 20% of chronic procrastinators.

Only you know that answer. Is it that business you’ve always wanted to start? Or maybe finishing that graduate degree? Or could be looking for that new product or service to add? Or is that trip to Italy? Learning to swim? Whatever it is we just need to start take that first baby step towards. After all, we don’t know what is in our future.
