I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a big basketball fan; mostly because I don’t understand the game. But, I did find this  Forbes article useful since it gave nine lessons from the NBA experience of a Harvard-graduate professional basketball player, Jeremy Lin.

Most of today’s successful people are not in the public eye. Rather these individuals live out their business, career and personal lives in successful manners far from the vision of the masses. I bet if we were to do a little research on successful people, we would learn that they apply one more of the lessons in the Forbes article.

Briefly, the nine lessons are:

  1. Believe in yourself when no one else does.
  2. Seize the opportunity when it comes up.
  3. Your family will always be there for you, so be there for them.
  4. Find the system that works best for your style.
  5. Don’t overlook talent that might exist around you today on your team.
  6. People will love you for being an original, not trying to be someone else.
  7. Stay humble.
  8. When you make others around you look good, they will love you forever.
  9. Never forget about the importance of “luck or fate” in life.

Take a few minutes and read the article and see what nuggets of wisdom you can apply to your journey towards success.
